Consultants are a vital component of every project organization and perhaps the most challenging role in the company as they need to be excellent analysts and show both strong leadership potential and maturity.
They work closely with clients to help them better understand competitive issues, develop strategies for change, and achieve results. Like the Senior Analyst, the focus of the works lies in providing qualified analysis of complex business issues although the Consultant's carry more responsibility from the outset. Their work is often more complex and its scope broader.
At Consuit, a new consultant participates in project teams while developing expertise in:
- quantitative analysis
- interviewing skills
- conceptualizing and communicating solutions
- client relationship skills
- teamwork
The opportunities for growth here is unlimited. The Consultant will be given more management opportunities to prepare for advancement to the Senior Consultant role which by definition is a management role. Most consultants remain in this role for two to three years before moving on to a Senior Consultant role. The length of time in the Consultant role will vary depending upon educational background and prior experience. Some decide to go for an MBA or other higher qualifications before moving on to more senior levels.
