Manager may well be the most varied role within the company. A Consuit Manager must be equal parts consultant, team leader, and project manager. Senior Consultants typically move into the Manager position after having established track records as both outstanding consultants and successful project leaders

Consuit Managers need to keep one eye on the big picture and the other on the details. They provide intellectual leadership for their teams by generating key ideas and conceptual frameworks to help guide research and analysis. They also provide team leadership by creating work plans, ensuring that projects are on time and within budget, and communicating project status to the Partners. Finally and most importantly, project leaders work closely with clients.

With experience and growing confidence, Managers have a key role in business development and external relations. They may work with teams that are recruiting Analysts, Consultants or Senior Consultants, writing client proposals, or writing articles and/or whitepapers or researching management and business topics.

The Managers gradually take on larger project management responsibilities, eventually directing a number of client engagements. Over time, they also help link Consuit's work on client projects to its broader business and strategic vision which will in time lead to a position as Partner. They are responsible for sharing insights generated from client projects and internal research with the organization. Managers also help communicate core Consuit ideas and concepts to clients and the media.
